Recommendation 10:Baomo Park
Baomo Park was built in the late Qing Dynasty, covering an area of 2,000 square meters, and was destroyed in the 1950s. It was rebuilt in 1995, integrating Qing official culture, Lingnan horticulture, Lingnan ancient architecture, Pearl River Delta water features, and ancient and modern artistic masterpieces in one. The park’s ancient buildings and gardens are cleverly combined, majestic, glorious, carved beams, ancient colors and new fragrance, overflowing color and light, elegant and noble.
The whole garden is surrounded by corridors, suitable for both sun and rain, and warm in winter and cool in summer, a summer sanctuary, the pavilion and garden layout is natural and cleverly conceived. The antique white stone pagoda at the main gate is spectacular and majestic. The garden is full of sculptures of various kinds. The most amazing work is the large relief porcelain mural “Qingming Riverside” and the huge brick sculpture “Tuyan and Ming Wall”, which have been included in the “Great World Guinness Best”, with exquisite craftsmanship and unparalleled.
The “Three Kingdoms”, known as the giant of porcelain sculpture, is majestic and vivid. In the garden, the portrait of Confucius, the teacher of the world, and the standing statue of Bao Zheng, who asked for help for the people, are placed for people to admire. In the Art Palace, there are a large number of bronzes, jades, ceramics and paintings of ancient and modern artists in the three pavilions of Huo Zongjie, Zhao Shaoang and Yang Shanshen, especially the 190 paintings reflecting the folk life of Guangzhou more than 200 years ago in the Yaji Pavilion, which is the treasure of the Treasure Ink Garden.
The water scenery of the whole garden is one of the best. In the garden, there is a clear lake with flowing water, a green marsh with a long river, and more than thirty stone bridges spanning over the charming river and lake. The Purple Cave Boat with strings and songs curls up, and the purple ribbon rainbow flies on the lake. One hundred thousand koi in the water turn red waves, willow bank visitors smile! Bamboo Creek and Li Island have become a happy place for children to play with water and catch fish. Climbing the building and look at the distant mountains and near the water, all in sight; if driving a flat boat, free to let go, as if in the Peng Ying. The whole Baomo Park is a garden art palace, forming a unique humanistic landscape.
